MS Dhoni left both fans and experts completely spellbound as the Chennai Super Kings batter slammed Hardik Pandya for three back-to-back sixes during the IPL 2024 match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was witness to a trademark Dhoni knock that saw the veteran wicket-keeper batter score 20 runs in just 4 balls at an astonishing strike rate of 500. At 42 years old, Dhoni has vastly limited himself to a finisher's role for his franchise and his knock was instrumental in taking the total beyond the 200-run mark. However, it looked like the knock came at some cost as Dhoni was seen limping with padding around his knee in a video posted on social media.

Dhoni was suffering from a knee injury during IPL 2023 and the veteran wicket-keeper batter underwent a surgery just after the competition.
CSK bowling consultant Eric Simmons earlier said that Dhoni has been struggling with his knee injury but he has decided to bat bravely for the sake of the team.
"Everyone else is more interested in his injuries than he is. He's one of the hardest men I've ever come across. I don't even think we know to what extent he may or may not be in pain. He just carries on and does his thing," Simmons said after CSK's win over MI.
"I'm sure there's some niggles. He just has that ability to ignore what it is and do what needs to be done. We're more concerned about his injuries. When I say we, I mean the public (which) is more concerned about his injuries than he is," he added.
Coming to the match, Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 20 runs despite Rohit Sharma scoring a brilliant century in front of his home crowd.
